Carers Week: 5th – 11th June 2023

Did you know its National Carers Week?

Carers Week is an annual campaign to raise awareness of caring, highlight the challenges unpaid carers face and recognise the contribution they make to families and communities throughout the UK. It also helps people who don’t think of themselves as having caring responsibilities to identify as carers and access much-needed support.

We have hundreds of unpaid Carers amongst our patients at The Blackmore Vale Partnership, and we want to take this moment to recognise the enormous and valuable contribution they make to those that care for, as well as the Healthcare service. You are all very special people, and we want to make sure we support you in the best way to suit your own situation.

You can find out you about local support groups and services available in your area by contacting our Wellbeing Team here at The Blackmore Vale Partnership. We can support you to find out what Carers rights you have. For example, by arranging a carer’s assessment, you can explore what your needs are and what different types of support are available, from emotional assistance to practical help – such as support with care workers in the home.

If you need support to obtain a Carers Assessment, would like information about or Carers Support group or anything else relating to your Caring role, please get in touch with our Wellbeing Team on 01747 856786.
